Simba Mhere is a  Zimbabwean born and is making it huge in South Africa. He is a presenter on the SABC 3 lifestyle television programme popularly known as Top Billing. It usually airs from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Thursdays and repeats on Sundays 12:00 pm.

Simba was called the new  'South African latest hotshot' presenter. He is known for his confidence infectious personality which I believe led him to fame and success.  Simba moved to South Africa with his missionary parents when he was a year old. He attended school at Randpark High  and then went to University of Johannesburg were he was doing his B. comm accounting.

Simba Mhere has been a presenter at Top Billing for four years now. je has aslo been making headlines on South African newspapers as well as local papers here in Zimbabwe such as Southern eye. He is considered as the youngest member of Top billing family .

As a presenter, Simba has got the privilege to travel around the world in new countries. He has also got the privilege to meet famous people like DJ Herca as well as getting into wonderful adventures.

In an interview with Southern eye, Simba said : "Since my first year things have just grown, so many doors have opened and I’ve also become a lot more mature about what I want from my career.”

Simba is being watched with joy by many South Africans as well as Zimbabweans who love seeing their own doing great things in the entertainment industry. I hope Simba will always keep the Zimbabwean flag flying up high.

Bev, the first brave pole dancer in Zimbabwe.

Just thought of talking about Bev, Zimbabwe's young and talented vivacious pole dancer as well as her Sexy Angels. Bev and her crew have been making headlines in our country ever since she started pole dancing with her friend Zoe. Despite the fact that she is a pole dancer, what i liked about the girl is that she has got lots of talent. Her body is very flexible and she always gives her best performances, in other word she always delivers. I have watched one of her performance that was recorded and distributed widely especially on the internet, and the funny part about the show is that there were a lot of males who came to support her. I don't want to judge her but I think what she is doing is super brave considering that she has been arrested together with her friend Zoe and many people believe that what she is doing is 'evil'. Well, I believe that she does what she does so that she can sustain herself. I also love the fact that she and her friend Zoe are the first women to introduce a pole dancing as entertainment in Zimbabwe. Bev sometimes performs wearing a revealing black outfit and a funky hairstyle.

During the show, she usually performs raunchy and erotic lap dances on a number of male fans whom she called onto the stage during her weekend show.  The music she dances to is mostly local music. I give her credit for her bravery as well as soldiering on about what she does.

There are  a lot of countries that support stripping and pole dancing as entertainment. United States of America is one example of such countries, South Africa also allows such entertainment.  So what is so special about our country? I mean if people loves what she is doing hen what is the problem. I also believe that Bev should be treated and respected as a normal person.

Was tinopona katsande's sex tape a publicity stunt?

Tinopona Katsande is a Zimbabwean celebrity, an actress, musician and a radio personality. Last year is considered as one of her biggest nightmares after she was exposed of her sensitive pictures and sex videos. She was a radio presenter at Zi fm before she got suspended over her sex tape. Miss Katsande also revealed her health problems on her facebook page after her sex tape scandal. she told the public that she has a condition which does not allow her to have babies. My question is was it a publicity stunt or what shes was saying is true that her cellphone that contained a whole lot of private stuff was stolen.? Did she want people to forget about what she did or was it only because she wanted to empower other women who have the same condition that she has.
Despite her image being tarnished by her sex tape, people cannot continue judging her over her private life. how many times do we hear of international celebrities such as Nicki Minaj and Kim Kardashian embarrassing stories as well as their sex tapes but people continue supporting them. It is so amazing that other people out there are still calling her names even after  she apologized and gave her reasons to the public.  Is it because it was a woman?

Stunner and Pokello's sex tape was also exposed but it was not widely reported the way Tinopona's issue was reported. I think we should support our artists and celebrities regardless of their private sphere because they are the very people that represent Zimbabwe in the entertainment industry.

Reviving our entertainment industry

I remember this other day, I was watching Mzansi Lokshin Bioskop on DStv and I came across a film called “S'mbimbino” and I realized it was a local production and I got so eager to watch the film. At first I was so angry that it was a very poor production but as the movie progressed I started to get the sense of the movie and it was really funny. I realized that I loved it bit by bit. I also loved the fact that some people out there are trying to keep our entertainment industry alive even though the production is poor. I think th
e technologies used in the production of film or videos are outdated, but how can our producers improve in sound, video and film making when we as a country are not supporting our local content? Many years back, Zimbabwe used to produce interesting movies like “Neria” written by  Tsitsi Dangarembga and you can check her out on tsitsi dangarembga

The movie also features one of the greatest musicians in Zimbabwe, Oliver Mtukudzi. other movies include Flame which was produced by Joel Phiri, Bridget Pickering and Jacques Bidou.  Now we have movies such as “Lobola” produced by Rufaro Kaseke and “Sabhuku vharazipi.” When you go to Youtube, you get shocked about the number of views on those movies. People really seem so uninterested in local movies but they prefer to watch movies or videos productions from other countries. We have excellent talent here in Zimbabwe but its only that our country is not a very good place to nature those talents ever since the economic downfall. Maybe it is also because many producers and good directors have flocked out of the country for greener pastures, and so are the actors and actresses.

One day I was watching a movie called yellow card a few years back when I was doing my primary education. Even though I don’t clearly remember what was actually happening, I still recall that the theme of the movie was HIV and AIDS. There was also this main character Leroy Gopal who acted as Tiyani a football soccer player whom I loved watching because he is a great actor. He made me engage into the movie because of his great talent. A few years later when I was now doing my secondary studies I started seeing Leroy on SABC which is a South African broadcast station. He was now a presenter in an advertisement for the country’s huge company Game.  For all of us who would love to watch more of our local movies lets visit this website http://www.zollywoodzim.co.uk/ Now my question that I would love to impose on you guys is, what do you think should be done to avoid our actors and musicians from flocking out of the country and try to revive our entertainment industry?

Ignorence or Attitude?

welcome to my blog ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls!!

Mixing it up is a blog that is designed to expose the entertainment industry of Zimbabwe as it combines both the music industry as well as the film industry. It is a blog that also talks about anything that is entertaining and interesting to the people. Mixing it up is a blog that seeks to encourage people to support local music and film as well as local artists. Together and united we can raise our Zimbabwe entertainment industry flag up high.

So this is how it came about, I was checking out music on Youtube I noticed that I was busy looking for artists from the U.S, south Africa and Nigeria., the likes of lil wayne, nicki minaj, wizkid, oskido and company. I asked myself why am I not looking for local artists from Zimbabwe and I found out that all this while I wasn’t interested in local music this explains why I only knew a few that artists from my country , the likes of Rocqui, Maskiri, EXQ, Stunner, Jah praiser and Winky dee  because they were and still are the most popular artists, but I wasn’t really enjoying their music. It was when I started hunting for our local artists about who they are and which music they are producing as well as the other upcoming. What I have noticed is that I am not the only one who is not aware of our local artist but we are just too many out there.

It is so shocking to hear other people say they don’t like local music because they say it is boring. Some people have an attitude towards local production and I have noticed that this attitude is also arising from tribal issues. There are only a few Ndebele people who support Shona artists which is also the same thing with Shona people who are also few in supporting Ndebele artists.  Why are we not supporting our local artists but keep on supporting people who are not even raising our music industry flag up high? Why are we not supporting our music regardless of our tribes just like south Africa for example, people there seem to be in love with their music and they support it  which is why their artists are making it big and some of the are being recognized internationally like the Jazz singer Lira. Zimbabwe has potential artists like “Shinsoman” who sang the song “mawayawaya”, “Winky dee” who sang “biggy man” which seems to be so popular amongst Zimbabweans. I even enjoyed the songs and the videos itself and I think as Zimbabweans we should bring that vibe back here in our country and support our musicians before we support other artists from other countries. so lets all go and like this pagehttps://www.facebook.com/StuNNerZJeremy
